Tracking System Software and Hardware

TekTakip is tracking system software and hardware developed to ensure the security of individuals and vehicles, as well as providing various benefits tailored to different sectors, such as improving business performance and reducing expenses related to the execution of tasks. It involves storing the real-time and historical location data of anything it is attached to (vehicles, people, objects, animals) on a designated server, allowing for the generation of reports on tracking information according to usage areas, and facilitating the retrieval of reports either instantly or at specified intervals.

TekTakip holds a 66.94% domestic product certificate granted by ATO and TOBB. All hardware manufactured under the TekTakip brand, including design and embedded codes, as well as server and interface software required for processing data from the hardware and presenting it to users, along with mobile application software for iOS and Android platforms, are developed entirely by a single team.

INDISPENSABLE MAP UNDERLAYERS FOR TRACKING SYSTEMS

The indispensable necessity of tracking systems is the map underlay. It is impossible to provide vehicle or mobile tracking services without a map underlay. There are many providers of map underlays on the internet. The most common ones are “Google,” “Bing,” and “Yandex” map providers, although these providers have started charging a fee per click for the use of their underlay in recent years, despite initially offering free services. However, there are still providers like “OSM” that offer free underlay services. Whether paid or free, using a third-party provider for the map underlay poses a significant risk for the indispensable use of map underlay in tracking systems. Restrictions or blockages in internet access, as well as the provider discontinuing or changing its service policy regarding map underlays, can suddenly lead to your system operating without a map underlay. This would render your location-based devices useless and unidentifiable in space. Professional tracking systems are systems that can operate without the need for an external map underlay and without losing any of their capabilities. In addition to displaying the location of the positioning device on the map, the map underlay is also used in converting numerical latitude and longitude data into address data.

In addition to supporting all the map providers mentioned above, TekTakip also has a local map underlay service that is no different from the map underlay provided by map providers available on the internet, as well as a digital map database. This demonstrates that uninterrupted map underlay can be provided even in networks without internet access, and there will be no issues in converting numerical coordinate data into address data.

Installation of System Servers and Software at the User's Data Center

Many tracking system service providers do not install server software at the customer’s data center. The main reason for this is the service fee charged per device in the years following the sale of the device. For businesses with a small number of devices or without a data center, it is appropriate to obtain tracking services from a tracking system service provider. However, for public or corporate entities with data centers and a sufficient number of devices, although hosting tracking system server software in the corporate data center may seem like an additional investment due to the initial investment cost, it will be seen as a more cost-effective system in the following years due to lower operating expenses. It should be noted that although some tracking system service providers claim to install their service servers in the user’s data center, it should be noted that the devices do not directly connect to the user’s established data center but rather connect to the service provider’s gateway server first before connecting to the user’s data center server.

Installing system software at the customer’s data center is an option to ensure data security and reduce operating expenses in the coming years.

TekTakip interface and mobile application software, along with backend services, can be installed at the location and server determined by the customer in projects where a sufficient number of devices are purchased. This usage type not only eliminates the high expenses incurred under the name of annual service fees but also provides advantages such as ensuring data security, using data in other decision-making mechanisms within the organization, and providing fast and uninterrupted access to data.

OPERATION OF CLOUD SERVICES

Cloud service is a system that allows corporate or individual users using tracking hardware to access various tracking functions such as viewing the whereabouts of their devices, generating reports, and retrieving archive information without making server investments. Users can access these functions by logging into the service provider’s website with their username and password. In cloud services, tracking hardware can be purchased or leased. In the leasing model, the M2M line used in the tracking hardware can be provided by the service provider. In this case, the device and the M2M line fees can be managed with a single lease payment. Even if the tracking hardware is purchased and the M2M line within the hardware is obtained by the user, there will still be an annual fee per device under the name of service fee in the following years after the purchase transaction. This fee is for the usage of server services and continues as long as the device is in use.

WHAT ARE THE TRACKİNG HARDWARE MODELS?

When we talk about tracking devices, the first thing that comes to mind is hardware designed for tracking vehicles. However, in the TekTakip product family, there is a variety of hardware available not only for tracking vehicles but also for efficiently and continuously tracking anything in motion that lacks its own power source. Particularly designed for mobile use, these devices offer high precision and low energy consumption, ensuring efficient and uninterrupted tracking services.

FOR VEHICLE AND GENERAL-PURPOSE MOBILE TRACKING, TEKTAKIP-T6 (izci) IS USED.

The TekTakip T6 model tracking device can be used for both vehicle and non-powered movable object tracking. Equipped with a locking socket, it includes provisions for continuous power supply from an external source, serial communication, two digital inputs, two analog inputs, and two digital outputs. The dedicated digital input port (used for detecting post-ignition power) automatically activates the device for vehicle tracking when 12V power is supplied in the vehicle. Subsequently, it generates alarms and violations based on defined vehicle tracking settings. Once the device switches to vehicle tracking mode, it cannot be manually turned off using buttons. If the device fails to detect continuous external power input, it alerts the server center. When the vehicle ignition is turned on, the device connects to the server center, and disconnects when the ignition is turned off.

When the ignition is off, the device enters alarm mode without waiting for the ignition to turn on in case of events such as the vehicle moving, external power being cut off, or the device’s cover being opened, and it notifies the server of the alarm status. To turn off and on a device that is not in vehicle tracking mode, the buttons on the device are used. If the device remains stationary for 3 minutes after being opened and not closed, it automatically shuts down and restarts when motion is detected again. The battery of the device in mobile operating mode is powerful enough to continuously operate for up to 25 hours based on position reporting to the server every minute.

The TekTakip-T6 is a product with technical features that enable you to take control of your fleet vehicles. It allows you to track who is using pool vehicles, the duration and distance each driver uses a vehicle, daily, monthly, and yearly mileage information, daily working hours, violation details such as speeding and idling through reporting, and real-time notifications to monitor the status of your vehicles. With TekTakip products, you can efficiently manage your fleet vehicles with minimal time and expense.

The TekTakip-T7 (Beldek) Offers Three Different Mobile Tracking Products for Various Usage Areas.

T7-A

T7-B

T7-C

The T7 models, designed for entirely mobile use, are offered in different boxes tailored for various applications. The T7-A model can be used as a belt buckle, the T7-B model is designed as a keychain accessory, and the T7-C model is sized to attach to backpack straps. All T7 models are equipped with an internal battery capable of continuous operation for up to 25 hours with a minute-by-minute location reporting frequency. All T7 boxes are designed to meet IP65 standards, ensuring they remain unaffected and operational in situations such as rain or water splashes. The single button on the devices is used for turning the device on or off and for emergency notifications. For emergency notifications, pressing the button several times in succession is sufficient. Regardless of whether the device is on or off, it connects to the data center, reports the emergency, and continues to perform tracking functions during emergency notifications.

TEKTAKIP T7-A

It is developed for the purpose of instant reporting of location-based tracking information of field personnel, analysis of compiled data from tracking information to detect rule violations, tracking of task responsibilities, and ensuring personnel safety for personnel working in open field environments.

The Beldek consists of tracking hardware embedded within the belt or harness accessory used by the personnel during their duties, along with server software that receives data from the tracking hardware. The product is designed to meet IP65 standards, allowing it to continue functioning without being affected by environmental factors such as rainwater during duty.

Moreover, the Beldek device transitions to a low-power consumption mode when the personnel remain inactive, aiming to reduce energy consumption and extend usage time.

As a result, the Beldek can continue operating for an average of three days without the need for recharging, considering a daily working period of 8 hours, without the need for the user to turn it on or off. With its emergency notification button, it alerts the server center when personnel require assistance, transitioning to a rapid location transmission mode for a specific duration to enable real-time tracking of the personnel’s movements on the map.

By defining personnel’s work areas on the map, it reports to the server the times when personnel enter/exit the defined map areas and the duration spent in the duty zones. This facilitates human resources management by enabling reporting on personnel who enter or do not enter the designated work areas. Some of the benefits of using the TekTakip T7-A model in the security sector are listed below:

  1. Instant notification to the central server and SMS alerts to all security guards in the same team when field personnel require assistance using the emergency button.
  2. Facilitates personnel attendance tracking.
  3. Streamlines personnel coordination.
  4. Assists in creating regional density maps.
  5. Enables real-time monitoring of tasks and personnel distribution in the city, enhancing data readability through map underlays.
  6. Facilitates measurement and reporting of tasks and responsibilities.

Beldek comes with one SIM card by default. For personnel working in open and wide areas, it supports communication through two different operator coverage areas, minimizing instances of real-time tracking interruptions that may occur due to coverage issues. This is achieved through custom production that enables communication with two different operators.

LONG-TERM TRACKING PURPOSES TekTakip-T8 (Hunter)

TekTakip-T8 provides tracking capability for up to 2 years with its long battery life and advanced power consumption functions. It can be quickly ready for use in 10 seconds by sticking it to metal surfaces with its strong magnets, without the need for installation. It is waterproof and dustproof with IP68 enclosure standard. Its slim design ensures that it does not create excessive protrusion on the surface to which it is attached.

It is designed to meet the tracking needs of security forces for target tracking, container tracking, or tracking that will not last for years. With its remotely controllable structure, the frequency of location transmission and operation mode can be changed. The device can switch from sending location updates every 30 seconds to every 30 minutes instantly with a command sent remotely. It automatically shuts down when stationary and resumes sending location updates when motion is detected again. To extend the tracking duration and prevent the device from getting lost, it can continue operating for days without losing connection to the data center by shutting down models with high energy consumption when the battery level reaches a critical level. With the capacity to continuously send location updates to the data center for 250 hours in the scenario of sending updates every minute, T8, like all TekTakip models, can be monitored and managed from a single interface.

ALARMS AND VIOLATIONS GENERATED BY TRACKING DEVICES AND SERVER SOFTWARE

The device and server software are equipped with various alarms and violation detections to facilitate system management, detect rule violations instantly, and provide reporting and real-time notifications. The device informs the connected data center instantly upon detecting an alarm or violation. These alarms and violations can be sent to desired users via SMS or email according to the user’s preference.

Alarms

  • Lid Opened: Attempts to open the device’s outer covers are detected by the device and reported to the data center.
  • Emergency Notification: Each device is equipped with an emergency/panic button. By pressing the emergency button repeatedly, the device reports this situation to the data center. The data center then performs the necessary procedures according to planned operational protocols for emergency detections.
  • Power Loss: This feature is applicable only to the T6 model operating in vehicle tracking mode. In the event of a power loss from the vehicle, the T6 device operating in vehicle tracking mode notifies the data center, allowing for real-time awareness of potential interventions being made to the vehicle.
  • Ignition Off Movement: This feature is applicable only to the T6 model operating in vehicle tracking mode. In this mode, if movement is detected in the vehicle despite the ignition being off, the T6 device notifies the data center. It continues to perform tracking functions as long as the vehicle is in motion, even if the ignition is not turned on.
  • Unauthorized Usage: This feature is applicable only to the T6 model operating in vehicle tracking mode. It requires the use of driver recognition hardware along with the T6 device. An unauthorized usage alarm is triggered when a user not recognized as the vehicle driver attempts to start the vehicle without presenting the driver recognition card or tries to start the vehicle without presenting any card at all. This event is then reported to the data center.
  • SIM Card Removal: All tracking devices communicate with the data center via the GSM M2M (Machine-to-Machine) network. The absence of this SIM card prevents data transmission, resulting in the device’s inability to establish a connection with the data center. If a user intervenes and removes the GSM M2M card from the device, this situation is detected by the device and reported to the data center.

Violations

Stop Management TekTakip devices operate based on informing the data center when entering/exiting one of the 10,000 geographic regions created using maps by the data center and sent to the devices for stop control purposes. Stop checks are performed by the device every second. The interval for sending location information to the data center does not matter in stop checks. Stop areas can vary in size from a few square meters to hundreds of square meters. Information about the moments when the device enters and exits stop areas and the duration it stays within the stop area is transmitted to the data center. A condition may be set to require a stop within each stop for entry notification to avoid unnecessary entry/exit violations at transit stop points along the route.

This detail, which proves to be useful in many private projects, can benefit in various areas such as reporting whether garbage has been collected from garbage collection points, determining whether the vehicle has stopped at points where product delivery is required, and so on. For example, if the vehicle stopped at only half of the 10 stop points along its route for a certain period and performed the required operation, reports would only be generated for these stops, and reports would not be generated for transit points to prevent unnecessary notifications and ensure accurate reporting.

Especially in cases where vehicles carrying hazardous cargo need to move very slowly in certain critical areas, a stop point can be designated for the relevant area, and a speed limit can be defined for that stop point. When the device enters this stop point and its speed exceeds the defined speed limit, the data center can be instantly notified, and designated users can be informed via SMS or email, potentially playing a preventive role in avoiding accidents.

It can also be used to report the times when security guards visit small control points that can be identified in a large open area, or to report the entry/exit times and the duration of stay within the area by defining a large area.

In addition, it can be used for notifying desired individuals when service vehicles approach student pick-up points, measuring and reporting customer visits, and obtaining understandable and summarized reports in many other areas.

• Zone Management
Unlike stop management, zone management is a control performed by the server, not by the tracking device. For this control to be possible, location data must be transmitted from the tracking device to the data center. Unlike stops, zones can consist of as many curves as desired. Zones can be subject to violation controls from the moment they are drawn and can be changed at any time. Zone drawings are done using the tracking interface and maps. They can be used in many projects where the entry/exit and duration of stay of tracking devices in areas such as parks, gardens, cemeteries, construction sites, security corridors, and zones need to be reported. Areas can be defined as restricted areas or definite duty areas.

Instant notifications via SMS or email can be sent to defined users in case the device enters restricted areas or exits definite duty areas.

• Work Time Management: Tracking devices can have predefined time intervals during which they are supposed to operate throughout the day. If data is received outside the defined time range, the data center creates a violation record and notifies defined users via SMS or email. Work time intervals can be defined separately for weekdays and weekends.

• Stoppage Restriction: This feature, commonly used in tracking vehicles, sets the maximum allowable time for vehicles to stop within specified time intervals during the day. If the vehicle exceeds the specified stoppage time, a violation is generated, and users are notified via SMS or email. The defined stoppage restriction can be applied separately for weekends as well.

• Speed Control by Road: TekTakip devices, like any system, can perform speed limit checks for each device based on predetermined speed limits set for specific roads. The speed limits for each road are determined based on the technical specifications of the road and environmental conditions. These speed limits can vary on the same road, ranging from 90 km/h over short distances to 50 km/h shortly afterward. The system compares the speed limit of the road with the vehicle’s speed information along the route. If there is a speed violation, the system generates a violation and sends instant notifications via SMS or email to defined users or drivers, if applicable. System administrators can also add a certain level of tolerance to the speed limits based on the road’s speed requirements.

• Real-time and Daily Idling Control: This feature of TekTakip devices involves detecting violations when vehicles with installed devices remain idle with the ignition on for an extended period. Violations are typically identified after a minimum idle time, such as 5 or 10 minutes. When the idle time is set to 5 minutes, any idling below this threshold is not considered. However, if the total idling time exceeds 5 minutes within a day, it is recorded as a separate violation in the system and included in the reports.

• Sudden Acceleration: This violation is generated by TekTakip devices based on the difference in speed within a 1-second interval of the vehicle in which the device is installed. It is used to detect instances of sudden acceleration or deceleration of the vehicle. Continuous occurrences of sudden acceleration or deceleration can lead to premature wear of tires and brakes, increasing maintenance costs.

Notifications

“TekTakip” incorporates technical features enabling real-time notification to predefined users of alarms and violations generated or detected by tracking hardware or the system. Alarms or violations detected by the system can be easily transmitted to predefined GSM numbers as SMS messages, email addresses as emails, and can also be accessed through the TekTakip mobile application. In addition to real-time notifications, it can fulfill the task of delivering daily, weekly, or monthly capacity usage reports to predefined users.

Advanced Features

The Last Known Locations of Devices on the Map

It is the main screen where the real-time whereabouts of all tracking devices can be monitored on the map, and various operations such as accessing basic device information, archive records, trip reports, and sending commands to devices can be performed. TekTakip supports a grouped display structure to make the form where all devices are tracked on the map more understandable and provides users with a grouped view of devices close to each other at smaller scales. As the scale level increases, it groups devices and provides a display in three different colors to enhance the readability of the number of devices within each group.

When clicking on grouped icons, the display of devices within the group is provided, enabling access to device properties. To enhance the readability of device statuses on the map, device icons can be changed by the user to select icons suitable for the intended use. The icons on the map rotate according to the direction of device movement and display in different label colors based on the device’s status, such as off, operational, stationary, alarm, or violation, ensuring that the map does not become cluttered regardless of the number of devices.

TekTakip provides an easy-to-use and user-friendly interface that allows you to manage your devices without compromising performance, no matter how many devices are being monitored in real-time.

Each TekTakip device comes with customizable data center location reporting parameters, which can be easily changed through the interface. When faster location data is desired from any device for a short period, all you need to do is click on the device icon and then click on the rapid location transmission icon in the window that opens. This allows the device to report its location to the data center every few seconds for a certain period, regardless of its current location reporting frequency, enabling step-by-step tracking.

TekTakip offers features such as keeping the screen boundaries of a desired device within view, automatically centering the map when the device’s location moves out of the screen, creating route lines between each location data received from the device, and generating audible alerts with each location update. By enabling the feature to provide audible alerts when multiple devices are in motion, TekTakip makes usage enjoyable by producing different musical notes based on the timing of location data received from the devices, creating an original melody.

Monitoring Different Map Regions on Multiple Screens

TekTakip supports displaying multiple map segments on the same screen to enable viewing different regions on the map at different zoom levels. This allows users to monitor different groups or devices in different windows and navigate through different map regions at various zoom levels. The display of different map regions in multiple windows is a feature that facilitates system management for businesses with a large number of devices, enhancing the readability of large data and making it easier to access information and keep the system under control.

Simulation

Simulation is the application method where the past locations of all devices are visualized on the map. TekTakip offers a unique multi-simulation feature not found in its competitors, allowing you to view the locations of all your devices at a specified time on the map and playback movement at the desired speed. While many tracking systems operate on a sequential basis for simulation, in the TekTakip system, simulation is processed in real-time, and the distribution of devices on the map can be shown at any desired moment.

Each device’s individual route can be displayed on the map in separate colors without causing clutter. TekTakip is the first and only system that allows the transfer of movement to other media and the recording of location data in video format. The display of past data of devices on the map and the export of this data in video format to be shared with requesting institutions or organizations, without direct access to the system, is of critical importance. TekTakip is the first and only system that meets this critical requirement.

Rapid Location Reporting

Temporary rapid location reporting is a feature not present in many tracking systems. TekTakip, suspends the current location reporting frequency of a desired device and starts to transmit location data to the data center as frequently as possible for a specified period. This process enables the device to be tracked step by step when there is a need for more frequent location updates. In the system, continuous step-by-step location reporting by every defined device can lead to an increase in communication expenses over time and render the system inoperable. Constantly receiving location data from hundreds or even thousands of devices can lead to unnecessary filling of the database with information, resulting in adverse consequences in terms of disk space, management, and reporting. Instead, the ability to switch to frequent location reporting in urgent situations alongside a location reporting frequency that meets the requirement is an important feature for tracking systems. This significant feature is supported and utilized especially by TekTakip systems.

REPORTS

The TekTakip system includes many reports that can meet corporate solutions. Some of these reports are described below.

Archive Records

Archive records are a report provided for listing and reviewing the records of a device or devices within a specified date range. Within the archive list, a desired record can be shown on the map, the map can be adjusted to the desired size, and moved to any desired location on the screen. The archive list can be obtained for a single device or multiple devices in different groups, or the archive records of all devices in one or more groups can be listed at once. The listed archive record includes the name of the device, the name of the group it belongs to, the time of creation of the archive data, the address information of the location where it is located, the events detected on the device at the time of location information (such as speed violation, opening of the cover, stop or zone area information, etc.), speed, battery level, direction, GNSS signal quality, and GSM signal quality. The listed archive records can be exported in pdf or excel formats, and prints can be obtained without the need for editing from the printer.

Trip Records

The concept of a trip encompasses the process between the opening and closing of devices used in tracking systems, and it involves correlating and reporting all information detected by the system during this process. It is a type of report that covers the total number of trips made by devices during the day, the time elapsed within each trip interval, the start and end locations of the trip, distance traveled, average speed, total number of alarms and violations generated, idle time, number of locations, M2M data consumption, and other related data.

To review the detailed archive within the requested trip interval, simply press the trip detail button at the end of the trip record. In the trip detail section, you will find the location data within the trip time interval and its representation on the map. Each location data detail can be examined thoroughly, its position on the map can be reviewed, and the results can be printed without the need for any editing, as well as exported in PDF and Excel formats.

Capacity Utilization Report

The Capacity Utilization Report summarizes the data generated by a requested device, one or more groups, or all devices within the system, providing daily totals of operating time, distance, data transfer counts and size, alarm and violation counts, along with idle waiting times in a single report. In addition to the Capacity Utilization Report, the system also offers many other useful reports such as Daily Operation Report, Last Location List, Zone Distribution Report, and Stop Interaction Report.

Graphical Reports

TekTakip includes graphical reports to enhance the readability of the data obtained from the devices. It provides various graphical reports for distance, operating times, total alarms and violations, data transmission counts and sizes, idle times, etc., both grouped by groups of devices and individually for each device within a group.

The “pie chart” graphics displayed in the graphical reports are interactive and responsive to user interaction, allowing for changes in the content of the reports.
